This Weeks Featured Model: Myaann Roland
This weeks featured model is Rocky Point resident Myaann Roland. Originally from L.A by way of Texas, Myaann came to Rocky Point several years ago on vacation, and just never left. Who can blame her? Beaches, sunshine, clubs, great people. Myaann’s living the dream in Puerto Penasco. When not working for the Los Palomas resort, Myaann is Rocky Point’s favorite blogger and club promoter. Her two latest clients are the Reef Beach Club (brought to you by Rocky Point’s Denise Brown) and The Blue Buddha. Both are great additions to the Rocky Point scene. Contest Winners for March 14th!
Well guys and gals, it’s a bit late, but here are pics from our winners for the contest on March 14. It was a terrific night, and we heard from guest after guest that Chango’s was the hottest ticket in town that night. Many had been to other clubs before coming to Chango’s, but they STAYED at Chango’s.
I’m out of town this week, so posts might be a bit sporadic, but stayed tuned for more photos from these lovely ladies, as well as video we shot at the show.
Another Amazing Night at Chango’s!
Wow! What an amazing night. It’s early Sunday morning as I sit and write this, again watching the sun rise over the Sea of Cortez. I’m up early because Jerry O’Conner and myself have to get ready for beach shoots with some of the AMAZING winners from last nights show. It was an amazing night at Chango’s, filled with good friends, good times, and some of the most beautiful women I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. We’ll be posting photos of the contest over the next week, as well as photos and video from our post show shoots. The content will be posted as it is ready, so check back often for updates.
Up until now, the thrust of the content on GORP has been the promotion of these contests, and selection of models for our calendar, but now model selection is complete. So what now for the GORP website? Well for one, we be shifting the editorial direction and reworking our categories and content. The Girls of Rocky Point website will still continue to feature updates on the release of the calendar, including making the calendar available for purchase online and our big shoot in April, but in addition to that, the website will start to feature more content about Rocky Point itself. It’s people, it’s attractions, places to stay, places eat, travel tips, and other valuable information. For this, we’ll be looking to our resident Puerto Penasco expert, Myaann Roland. As concierge at the Los Polomas, NO ONE is more plugged into this town than Myaann, and she’ll be providing lots of great information for both the people who visit Rocky Point, and those who call it home year round.
In addition, GORP will now start to feature more content about our favorite subject, photography. This project was born out of our love for photography, and the great locations of Peurto Penasco, Mexico, and we’ll start to focus more content on that aspect of the calandar. We’ll be periodically tapping our photographers to share their insight, experience and knowledge of our art with our readers. These posts will feature not only information about our calendar shoots, but our shoots outside of this project as well. We’ll talk about our gear, our lighting, our shoots, and just about every aspect of photography.
In any case, it’s time to head to the beach for a photo shoot, so check back later for pics, and ton of new content!
Saturday Night’s Drink and Food Specials!
Tomorrow night (March 14, 2009) is another big night at Chango’s with the second bikini contest of Spring Break 09 in Rocky Point, Mexico and Chango’s has some great specials! Drink specials are VO and Ballentines shots for $1.00 and VO and Ballentines Mixed Drinks $2.00, and as always 1.50 draft Tecates. Plus Carne Asade Tacos (3) for $5.00 and Cheese Quesadias for $3.00. Oh yeah, and Jello shots too!

We’re Home from Sandy Beach!
Just a quick note to let everyone know we are home from our beautiful beach house on Sandy Beach at the Las Palmas.in Rocky Point, Mexico Tonight we’ll be posting some photos of the most GORGEOUS bikini models we’ve ever shot, including one very special calendar girl. We shot these at our FAVORITE place to stay…the beach houses at the Las Palmas, with the best beaches in Puerto Penasco, so check back in tonight.

This just in…The lovely Myann Rowland from the popular Rocky Point blog mynparty.blogspot.com (and one of our lovely calendar girls), will be sharing hosting and MC duties with Hip Hop artist Serious in our first bikini contest of Spring Break 2009. Now we love Serious, the mans got flow, but he can’t speak a word of Spanish….wait…maybe he can. I didn’t ask. When Myann said she’d serve as our Spanish speaking co-host I JUMPED at the chance!
This show is gonna ROCK people! We’ve got great talent hosting. and performing, a lot of gorgeous girls pre-registered (we know they’re gorgeous because we added an upload photo feature to the submission form!), and we’re expecting a lot more to register on the day of the show. The facebook RSVP’s look like the Who’s Who of the Peurto Penasco Party scene, so DON’T you DARE miss it!

Well guys, I wanted to write a very long detailed post on all the things we did this weekend, including going to the docks at Malecone to see the yacht we’ll be shooting at, and all the different photo shoots we got to do with two of our contest winners, but if we wait for me to write THAT post, you’ll NEVER get to see any more pictures from this weekend. So how about I just post so more pictures for now, and we’ll leave all the rest for later? This blogging stuff is HARD! You know the reason I quit using Twitter was because I had a hard time coming up with 140 characters worth of relevant material, and now I have to BLOG??!!
Presenting the First EVER Girls of Rocky Point!
Well it was a GREAT weekend in Mexico, to say the least! Our event at Chango’s was a LOT of fun, and we met some great people, and picked some BEAUTIFUL women for our calendar. We were off to a bit of a rocky start at first, but as the evening proceeded, things went a little smoother. There seemed to be a bit confusion among contestants about the format of the contest, and the rules, and in and effort to clear some things up for this weeks contest, We’ve posted a contest FAQ. PLEASE read it if you are considering competing in this weeks contest. The contest rules are already posted, and if you are thinking of competing, you MUST read them.
In any case, like said, we’ve got our very first “Girls of Rocky Point” and here they are! Stay tuned as we will be posting more about these young women soon, along with many pictures from our shoots with 2 of them on the beach, poolside, and in and around Malecone!

Wow! What a Weekend!
It’s just before midnight on Sunday night and I’ve literally just walked in the door of my home near Phoenix. Mexico, as always, was a blast, and the contest at Chango’s FANTASTC fun. We had a few logistical and technical bumps, but everyone had a great time, we have some gorgeous winners, and our first contest of Spring Break (This SATURDAY), will certainly go more smoothly. The bottom line though, is we now have our very first “Girls of Rocky Point”, and what beautiful women they are too. We had a great time picking them, and in some cases, have some trial photo shoots with them. We’ve got pictures of all this weeks winners coming tomorrow, as well as some pictures of our photo shoots around Puerto Penasco, so check back tomorrow for some brand new pictures, as well as all the details of Saturday’s show, and new information for next weeks show.

Heading to Mexico!
Well the big day for the first contest is almost upon us, and our crew is getting ready to head to Mexico for the first of the contests at Chango’s to pick some models for our calendar. We’ve made this trip many times before, but this time is especially exciting because of the contest. We’ve also scheduled some shoots with some models coming over from Hermasillo to be in the contest, just to fill our downtime :).
We’ll be leaving from Maricopa (just south of Phoenix/Tempe) at about 4 PM today, for anyone who’s coming and would like to caravan down with us. And if you’re still contemplating entering the contest as a contestant, I believe we still have an extra seat or two in our caravan, and some room at the hotel. SUBMIT a contestant entry and we’ll contact you ASAP.
Shoot aboard the 112′ Custom Yacht “Amelia Rose”
Larry Large, one of the partners at Chango’s and founder of The Larry Large Foundation has graciously offered to bring his 112′, custom built yacht, the “Amelia Rose” (it’s the great big one) up from Mazatlan for us to shoot on in April. Now I have never personally been aboard this ship, but I’ve understand it’s a beautiful, custom built yacht, with 8 state rooms and standing crew of 6.
What does this mean? Well it means that some of the lucky women selected to be in the calendar, will also be selected for a photo shoot aboard this vessel. I can’t guarantee all our winners will be shot on board, but I CAN guarantee if you don’t enter, you won’t ever get the chance, so enter online now, or come down to Chango’s this Saturday and join the fun!
Clothing Designers, Manufacturers, and Boutique Owners
Are you a clothing designer, manufacturer or store owner? Are you looking for fashion shots for your line or store? We’re looking for partners in these areas to provide wardrobe (especially swimwear) for our calendar shoot in April, and prizes for our winning contestants. OK, maybe she won’t be in our calendar, but she’s still one of OUR favorite Girls of Rocky Point. America Marquez is the General Manager for the Las Palmas resort. The Las Palmas is the resort of choice for the staff of The Girls of Rocky Point Calendar, as well as the host for the photographers and models for Don Gianatti’s Lighting Essentials workshops. We enjoy the Las Palmas because of the personal service we get at the Las Palmas, and from America especially.
